On July 11, 2008 Dayle and her son Matt will be going on a mission trip to Honduras with a 39 member team to minister to the Honduran people and share the good news of Christ. (You can read more about this mission further down.) If you would like to make a donation towards their expenses as well as the purchase of medicines and other items they will be taking to the Hondurans you can make a secure donation by clicking on the "Donate" button below.
As of March 2008, Gaithersburg Church of the Nazarene has 39 members, including teens and adults, committed to going on a mission trip to Honduras in July 2008.
Vision Statement
Our desire is to go to Honduras and serve humbly with a passionate love that can only come from Christ. We understand that we will be uncomfortable and stretched beyond what we think we can handle, but may we come to know and recognize that with God, all things are possible. We want our team to grasp the reality that when we serve ¡the least of these' we not only look directly into the face of God himself, but we are participating in the fellowship of sharing in Christ's sufferings. We pray that our faith in Jesus will grow like never before and we'll be able to claim that faith without action is dead.
Mission Statement
The mission is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love the people we will serve as ourselves. Our desire is to imitate Jesus' behavior knowing that he did not come to be served, but to serve and to save the lost. We want to acknowledge that we have been freely given so much and we would like to freely give to others. Our goal is to care for orphans and widows, feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, give a stranger a ride, clothe people who need clothing, and care for the sick.
